During the 2006 Games in Turin, Holubec took part in only one event - the 20 km Individual, where he finished 33rd. He participated in World Championships from 1997 in Brezno-Osrblie until 2012 in Ruhpolding. His best finish was 8th place with the relay in 2004 in Oberhof. As for his personal best result, Holubec came 11th in the sprint at the very same Championships - 2004 in Ruhpolding and a 15th place , again in the 10 km sprint in Hochfilzen after a year, in 2005. His best overall finish was 45th in 2004-2005. Tomas Holubec has 12 times finished in the Top 20. He came 9th in the sprint in Hochfilzen in 2011-2012, 10th in the sprint in Ruhpolding in 2010-2011, 11th again the sprint in Oberhof in 2003-2004, 13th in the Individual in Östersund, 4 times 15th in the sprints in Ruhpolding and Hochfilzen in 2000-2001, in Pokljuka in 2004-2005 and once more in Hochfilzen in 2004-2005. Holubec placed 16th in the pursuit in Ruhpolding in 2003-2004, 17th in the Individual in Östersund in 2006-2007 and 18th in the sprint in Lake Placid. After the end of 2011-2012 season, Tomas Holubec announced his retirement. He is married to teammate Katerina Holubcová.
